560ml tubs of sterilised BRF cakes made from a combination of organic brown rice flour and vermiculite often called the PF-tek. The tubs are supplied with alcohol wipes and a pair of medical gloves. The kit is suitable for fruiting many different species or mushroom, edible, novelty or medicinal. We've had great fun growing oyster mushrooms.
 
Each 550ml tub lid is fitted with a 0.45μm ventilation port and self healing injection ports at the edges for inoculation by spore or culture syringe. Our research shows that you can remove the ventilation port one week after inoculation to speed up colonisation. Cover the hole with micropore tape. 
 
The substrate is hydrated to field capacity, loaded into the tubs and then covered with a barrier layer of plain vermiculite to the top. Each substrate tub is then sealed and sterilised in an compute controlled autoclave to achieve total sterilisation at 121ºC for 90 minutes. Our substrate tubs are prepared using the best available organic ingredients to achieve fast growth and optimal colonisation.
 
Inoculate the tubs with 2-5ml your favourite edible, novelty or medicinal mushroom species.
